Running a GriefShare group without workbooks is like baking a cake without flour—it just doesn’t work. The workbook is a key ingredient to healing and helps group members engage, process, and grow in their journey through grief.
GriefShare has three main parts that work together to bring about the fullest healing experience possible for participants: weekly video session, small group discussion, and personal workbooks. This is why we encourage every participant to have a workbook, because it builds on the weekly video lessons and discussion time. It provides individuals with relevant Scriptures, practical exercises, and biblical wisdom for navigating their own challenges through grief.
The workbook gives participants a space to process their thoughts, reflect on what they’re learning, and engage in exercises that deepen their healing.
Grief is a lot to process. The workbooks help participants revisit key topics and reinforce what they’ve learned each week.
Grief doesn’t disappear when the session ends. The workbooks provide a long-term resource participants can return to whenever they need encouragement. It also provides a record of healing progress.
When participants come prepared, it helps facilitators guide discussions more effectively, making your group time more impactful.
But don’t just take our word for it—here’s what participants have said about how their workbooks helped them:
We recommend you keep a stock of workbooks to ensure every newcomer and every participant has this essential resource. If you notice a group member without one, or if you’re running low, we can ship out a supply for you as soon as possible.
P.s. Don’t forget to order your Spanish participant workbooks to have on hand for Spanish-speaking group members.
